Technical Developer - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Note: This is a temporary position for between April 1 and June 30
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is consistently ranked the #1 children's hospital in the nation. The Technical Developer - Web (ColdFusion) creates, enhances, and maintains web-based applications that support the Hospital's mission of superior patient care by facilitating workflows and communications within the Hospital as well as between Hospital staff and current and prospective patients and their families.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate or provide a documented history of successfully applying most of the following skills, traits, and abilities:
- Intermediate knowledge of and experience in ColdFusion (v5+), HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, SQL, and CGI.
- Procedural programming techniques.
- Willingness to learn new skills and pursue continuous self-improvement.
- Operate within a well-defined development methodology and adhere to standard work processes and quality practices as well as the ability to function effectively in the absence of them.
- Work alone on small projects or in a collaborative manner as part of a cross-functional team on larger projects.
- Freely share knowledge and routinely seek knowledge from others.
- Evaluate functional and technical requirements for completeness and participate in gathering the information required to fill identified gaps.
- Review and implement application designs created by others.
- Monitor and report on development risks that pertain to their work.
- Estimate their own work and report on progress against estimates.
- Adhere to documentation standards.
- Learn and effectively use a standard development and testing toolset.
- Use code and object libraries to streamline creation of applications.
- Adhere to security standards when developing code.
- Work and communicate effectively with IS staff having a variety of cultural backgrounds and degrees of technical knowledge.
