October Meeting: Going from server templates to client side templates: jQuery Templates and Backbone.js

This months meeting features regular member Chad Paul, who will be presenting jQuery Templates and Backbone.js. Here's what you can expect:

With the push towards better and more functional interfaces, technologies like AJAX, Web 2.0 and HTML5 are all the rage now. Common practice now asks why do that page reload when you just need a little bit of data. With this shift, those page loads are becoming more and more endangered. To us server side programmers, this can be viewed as a threat or an opportunity. If we choose to make it an opportunity, how do we manage that interaction? Lucky for us the are a lot of client side frameworks that make the data transfer and rendering easier.

In this presentation we will look how we can use jQuery, jQuery templates and backbone.js and how they can work together to make great front end interfaces.

If you're coming, please RSVP so we can get an accurate head count for food.
